William Henry Vodehnal

William Henry Vodehnal was born August 29, 1904 in Valley County, Nebraska and he died on September 14, 1980 in Ord, Nebraska. He was 76 years and 15 days old when he passed. For over 55 years, he was the one and only pharmacist in North Loup, Nebraska -- where he made his home, raised two daughters, enjoyed three grandchildren -- and lived as a widower for the last 15 years of his life. To the end, he dedicated his heart and mind to the village that formed him. Here are bits of images and shards of imagination that made Wm. H. Vodehnal a wonderful grandfather to David Boles. All artwork and images are from David Boles' private Prairie Voice Archive.
